Quote of the Day

Their conclusion is unanimous: not only have coercive methods failed to generate significant and actionable intelligence, they have also caused the squandering of resources on a massive scale through false leads, chimerical plots, and unnecessary safety alerts.

  1. Exactly. For some reason I have this hunch that suspected terrorists may also be willing to shade the truth under such circumstances.

Tragically, it appears that most of the torture victims of the US government during the past eight years were merely suspects, and had done very little wrong. You can bet they’re enemies now – those who are still alive and competent.

  2. I have no direct knowledge to add here suffice it to say that if I was being tortured I would likely say whatever I thought they wanted to hear whether it was the truth or a concocted story.

  3. Shoot the messenger, Nonegiven? Vanity Fair publishes some highly credible investigative pieces, along with their other fare.

Shoot down their facts, if you can, but don’t hide behind anonymous pot shots at the sources – both are cowardly.

  4. Nonegiven:

The truth is never crap, regardless of source.

  6. So now Vanity Fair is finding time to do great investigative reporting between their 100 ways to please you man and how to loose 20lbs in 20 days articles. Seriously, you shouldn’t post crap like this.
