Ponder the Global Peace Index

with 2 comments

“Blessed are the peacemakers,” said Jesus; there may be some nations that are so blessed.

At Reclaiming Space, human geographer (and friend) Ann tells of the Global Peace Index, which rates both positive and negative contributions to peace, intra- and internationally. Below is a graphic to pique your interest. Ann lists top three and bottom three (and no, the USA is in neither, American readers), and links to the site, where you can find the criteria used.

There is much to think about here, and it is hopeful. What could be learned from those places whose contribution to the world appears to be more positive than negative?

Gotta go: I need to get back there. May God help us to get it.

  1. Don’t know. Perhaps Afghanistan is so dangerous that usable data can’t even be gathered there.

  2. Afghanistan’s state of peace is not included? Something wrong with the picture?
